There is a Desert-Greening Project in Algeria that is attempting to use a
cloudbuster to alter the climate of a region on the border of the
Sahara Desert. It is led and organized by Madjid Abdelaziz, an Algerian
engineer who has lived in Berlin, Germany, for over 20 years. The
project, according to it's website, is attempting to improve the
climate of an oasis in the Sahara for agricultural purposes.
The project is not in compliance with even the most basic environmental standards. The organizers of this project have never consulted with an ecologist, drawn up any environmental impact statement, or taken into account the needs of native plant and animal species that would inevitably be affected by a change in climate or by any spread of agriculture into previously unexploited lands.
This shows a remarkable level of ecological illiteracy and lack of sophistication about the most elementary safegards required routinely nowadays by any type of project that can be reasonably expected to impact the environment. Not surprisingly, there have been unwanted side-effects caused by poor judgement and lack of expértise.
The use of a Reich cloudbuster by this project is highly problematical, to say the least. Mr. Madjid and his associates have no real understanding of orgone energy functions in the atmosphere and as a result, several catastrophic side-effects have occured, including unusually severe heat waves in Europe which caused numerous deaths.
The employment of a cloudbuster by people who have only a most superficial knowledge of how it works or how to use it, and who have failed on more than one occasion to recognize the results of their activities can be expected to cause further problems in the future.
Operations have been done by this group that imported cold wet air masses down from the North Atlantic in winter, bringing rain to North Africa at the coldest time of year, harming native plant life adapted to warmer conditions, and helping invasive, non-native species brought from colder, wetter Europe to proliferate and dominate over the more cold-sensitive native species.
Other operations, drawing warmer air masses and weather fronts from south of the Sahael desert belt up to the Sahara had the predictable side-effect of pushing the hot dry summer air mass of North Africa further north, over Europe, where it caused an unprecedented heat wave triggering numerous fatalities. This side-effect was not noticed by the participants in the Desert-Greening project, who remained unaware of the connection between the heat wave and their work until I informed them of it.
More recently, after having been made aware of these blunders by my critical articles, the group has concentrated on doing vertical draws, apparently in the conviction that by avoiding lateral motion of air masses and weather fronts across the surface of the earth, they can avoid doing any harm outside their immediate target area. But the area that can be affected by a single cloudbuster is very large, up to 1,000 km. across, perhaps even more, depending on terrain features and climate conditions, and the contraction caused by a vertical draw will produce rain, but will do little or nothing to remobilize the stagnant, imobilized atmospheric energy field known as DOR that is the cause of the desert conditions.
However a vertical draw will contract the atmosphere in a wide circle centered on the cloudbuster, and the contraction will be induced in all living organisms within range. In all forms of animal life, including humans, the objective contraction of the biological energy of the system is subjectively perceived as a threat and anxiety and agitation result. The time-frame of the cloudbuster operations suggests the possibility that at least some of the political unrest in North Africa in the past year or so has been a reaction by agitated, anxious human masses to the contraction of their energetic environment by the cloudbuster.
This effect of a cloudbuster-induced changes in the state of the orgone fields of the atmosphere on distant living organisms is not just speculation on my part. Reich attributed a prison uprising at a prison in Maine, about 90 miles ( 145 km. ) from his laboratory in Rangely, to agitation caused by his experiments involving exposure of highly concentrated orgone to radioactivity.
Electrodes inplanted in trees and connected to a volt meter show a distinct change in voltage potentials as soon as a cloudbuster starts operating, even at a distance of 200 km. or more. The Medical DOR-buster, which is an exact miniature of the cloudbuster, is routinely used in some forms of Reichian psychiatric therapy for the very reason that it can cause profound emotional effects.
The possibility of changes in the orgone field of the region having an effect, both physical and emotional, on people within a considerable distance is therefore not too far-fetched.
An additional issue is that the cloudbuster is grounded, as is shown on the project website, into a well at the oasis. It is well-established in the cloudbusting field that the water used to ground a cloudbuster becomes saturated with the energy drawn into it. This was first published in 1961 by Charles Kelley, in his book-length report, A New Method Of Weather Control, in which Dr. Kelly described how his house and backyard became contaminated with toxic energy, known as DOR, by grounding a cloudbuster into a swampy area in his backyard.
Reich, in Contact With Space, published in 1957, by C.OR.E. Pilot Press, described the desert atmosphere as being heavily contaminated with DOR, and told how one of his employees, Robert McCullough, suffered a stroke and was left partially paralyzed from exposure to the DOR field that accumulated around his cloudbuster in the Arizona desert.
The grounding of a cloudbuster into the only source of drinking water for the inhabitants of the oasis endangers the health of the population and reflects the lack of understanding of orgone energy, especially of it's biological aspects, by those involved in this project.
A further complication is that these people, who have taken upon themselves the authority to intervene in the weather and biology of North Africa despite their total lack of any training or expertise in either ecology or orgone biophysics, are extremely mystical and have incorporated their cloudbusting operations into a mystical worldview that insists on ignoring evidence, or even any common sense.
In several e-mails from a Mr. Harold Kautz-Vela, who describes himself as the public relations person for the project, I have been told that they are also employing other methods in addition to the cloudbuster to improve the climate in the region. One of the methods they are using is a Hindu religious ritual known as "Agni Hotra". This religious ritual is well-known in India, but is not used in traditional Hinduism for the purposes the Desert-Greening group in Algeria is attempting to use it.
They are attempting to use this out-of-context Hundu ritual to eliminate residual radioactivity left in the Sahara by French atomic bomb tests in the 1950s. The ritual consists of burning cow manure, which is considerd sacred in Hinduism because the cow is considered a sacred animal, in an inverted copper pyramid at dawn and sunset while chanting hymns from the Rig Veda, a Hindu scripture. The idea that this procedure could remove radioactivity from the environment is, to put it most charitably, religion, not science.
When I expressed skepticism about this procedure, Mr. Kautz-Vela sent me an e-mail containing an explanation composed of a series of pseudo-scientific buzzwords bearing no relationship to the meanings of those words as used by scientists.
Despite the specification that cow manure is to be used, I would call it BULL .
If the Desert-Greening project continues to misuse the Reich cloudbuster to damage the fragile desert ecosystem and endanger the native species of plants and animals for agricultural gain, while at the same time causing destructive weather conditions in distant areas, it might be necessary for people in Europe to act in self-defense.
