Cloudbuster Attacks On Planet Earth

Cloudbusting is a menace to the environment. Despite some claims to the contrary, cloudbusting is not a solution to environmental problems; it is a problem in itself, a destructive technology requiring a condemnatory response by the environmental movement.

Cloudbusting is not something new; it is already so comonplace as to be intolerable and an environmental movement to control this currently unregulated technology is needed to protect the public.

All over the world people are getting worried about what is happening to the climate. Each year, it seems, there are more and more extreme weather events of increasing severity and frequency. Records are being broken more often than ever before in recorded history. It is clear the climate of the entire world is becoming destabilized, less reliable, more random and chaotic, with droughts, floods, heat waves, and severe cold spells becoming the norm.

While there are several factors involved in this climatic breakdown, one seldom recognized major factor in this climate destabilization is the existence of a technological means to interfere with the natural movement of the atmosphere on a large scale. This device, called a cloudbuster, is simple and cheap enough to construct that in recent years hundreds of individuals all over the world, learning about it from instructions promiscuously posted on irresponsible websites, have taken it up as a backyard hobby.

Many of these individuals tend to be paranoid and delusional, and are using the cloudbuster as a sort of prop in a role-playing game, often imagining themselves to be fighting off hostile UFOs, resisting a secret government plot of some kind, or changing "bad" atmospheric energy into "good".

Many others claim they are "ending droughts", "making rain", or "doing research". They seem oblivious to the fact that the droughts they think they are ending resume as soon as they stop operating because the underlying cause of the drought has not been adressed. They fail to understand that the goal of proper cloudbusting is not to make rain, but to restore normal pulsation of the atmospheric energy so that, among other effects, rain will occur spontaneously as needed.

They ignore the rights of the people affected to be told what is being done to their environment and to have some say in the matter, and that subjecting people to a research program who have not given their informed consent is a human rights violation.

Some think they are "greening deserts", while in reality, they are subjecting the fragile dryland ecosystem to unusual stress from excessive rainfall in areas where all native life-forms are well-adapted to the prevailing conditions.

They usually have no idea of the scientific basis upon which the cloudbuster works, or fantasize, without evidence, that some wildly speculative theory of their own concoction is the better theory. Frequently they have little idea of what a cloudbuster is capable of, many of them, for example, thinking it only affects their local area.

As a result of these incompetent interventions in atmospheric dynamics, countless innocent victims have died and the environment has been seriously disturbed in numerous weather-related catastrophes.

Due to their paranoia they do not often communicate what they are doing to others working in the same field. Many of them, in fact, think they are the only ones doing anything with what they think is a somehow suppressed and secret invention. Many others are so arrogant they think nobody except themselves and their associates is able to conduct cloudbusting operations safely and properly, so they refuse to co-operate with those they deem "unqualified".

While there is certainly nothing secret or suppressed about the cloudbuster, it is regarded as crackpot by many of the scientific community, in large part because of the absurd fictions and folklore with which it has become surrounded. The fantastic legends of its' inventor, Wilhelm Reich, having been the victim of official persecution, or of some alleged conspiratorial plot, or having fought wars with beings from outer space, or having had meetings with Einstein, serve to distract attention from the serious issue of the menace of the cloudbuster he invented.

This large body of folklore functions to hide the reality of the cloudbuster as an effective, science-based tool and disguise it as a crackpot fantasy. It is perfectly right, in fact, the only rational response of anyone with even the slightest scientific education, to dismiss such a device as incapable of having any effect on the weather when it is presented wrapped in such packaging.

The failure to recognize the imput into the total atmospheric picture of this proliferation of crackpots playing around with cloudbusters means the scientists trying to understand the weather are misled into ignoring that a large portion of unusual weather events are being caused by this unsuspected form of technological intervention and instead think the climate changes now underway are being caused by some other factor, such as greenhouse effect from combustion products released into the atmosphere.

Any theory of what is happening with the weather and climate on this planet must take the social phenomena of a mass movement of cloudbuster hobbyists into account. And the environmental movement must mount an effective effort to counter this form of blatant interference with the atmosphere.

If and when cloudbusting is ever recognized by the scientific community as a science-based reality rather than a prop in a fantasy role-playing game, then it can be expected that official agencies will take over the job of protecting the public from improper use of the cloudbuster. But until then, it is up to concerned environmentalists to fill that role. Otherwise, until cloudbusting can be regulated, countless innocent victims will continue to die each year from cloudbuster-murder by crackpot Reichians.

And greenhouse gases from combustion will take the rap. The world is now facing serious economic problems at least partially caused by the mistaken belief that the atmospheric disorder caused by cloudbusting is due to a greenhouse effect instead, and numerous laws are in the process of being passed taxing or restricting fuel-burning activities in an effort to prevent weather disasters that are really being caused by cloudbusting and could only be prevented by restricting the use of cloudbusters.

Until effective regulation is in place, however, the few responsible people who are aware of the threat posed by cloudbusters must be ready and willing to take whatever action is needed to stop the use of cloudbusters in their home areas. Direct intervention by concerned citizens is often the only way to prevent serious harm to the earth and to the public, and this is one of those cases.

computer to spread the word about anything they please, irresponsible
instructions for building cloudbusters have mushroomed and
cloudbusting is now second only to nuclear power as the worst environmental
threat.

Cloudbuster proliferation has become a major environmental problem.

The cloudbuster is a very simple, easy to construct device that can be used to help restore a sick, damaged atmosphere to normal self-regulatory functioning.

This re-establishment of natural self-regulation to the atmosphere when it has become damaged and stagnated is the goal of any properly-done cloudbusting project.

Unfortunately, many people fail to grasp this point. Anyone who uses terms like "weather engineering", "etheric engineering", "weather control", "rainmaking", and the like, does not understand this important factor in cloudbusting.

It is an unfortunate side-effect of cloudbusting that it can be misused to cause rain and can have other direct effects on the weather.

In recent years many environmentalists have expressed concern that the details of how to construct a cloudbuster are too easily available on the internet. There is a growing Orgonomic Ecology Movement that is concerned about unwanted consequences of cloudbuster interference in the weather and seeks to prevent cloudbuster proliferation and combat those individuals guilty of hubris who wish to intervene in the weather by this means.

The Orgonomic Ecology group exists to explore ways and means to stop the proliferation of cloudbusters and expose to public outrage the power-drunkards and control-freaks who are attacking our atmosphere with cloudbusters, however they may rationalize their destructiveness.

We will pull no punches. We will name names and fight back against the propaganda of the atmosphere abusers and their enablers.

We regard Atmosphere Abuse as similar to other, more personal, forms of abuse, such as abuse of children or animals. The psychology of the abuser is the same, and we intend to expose that pathology.

We seek to build an anti-cloudbuster movement that can bring to a halt the rapidly growing hobby of manipulating the weather by control-freaks who are unable to leave the natural world alone.

GOOD INTENTIONS

Jerry Decker has good intentions. I have met him and there is no doubt he is a sincere humanitarian and his advocacy of cloudbusting to fight the current drought in his home state of Texas is motivated by a genuine desire to help people who are suffering from the lack of normal rainfall.

But unfortunately, Jerry just has not thought things through. He thinks he is helping by advising his readers to build cloudbusters and use them to fight the drought. He provided a link to an article of his that tells in very good detail exactly how to construct a perfectly sufficient cloudbuster.

And that is all it tells them. Not a single word about what to do with that cloudbuster once you have it. No mention of what the cause of the drought problem might be, no idea which direction to aim the cloudbuster. No description of what reactions to look for to know if it is having an effect or not. Nothing about the potential for causing a flood or a tornado or some other unwanted side-effect. No suggestion to read books and any of the hundreds of scientific articles on cloudbusting that have been published over the past 60 years since the cloudbuster was first developed. No urging anyone to get in contact with people experienced in the field and solicit their advice. No mention that cloudbusting, just as much as medicine, requires a lengthy period of training and study in order to be practiced safely.

Jerry does not even consider the possible results of his making such a public suggestion to a readership which includes many people not personally known to him or to each other. How many of his readers might follow his advice? And how many of them might end up working at the same time in the same area? That could be a rather large area, since the range of a single cloudbuster can be several hundred miles or more. And if several people were working at the same time, unknown to each other, what would be the results? Would they cancel each other out? Would they augment each others' operations, causing dramatic, but potentially damaging side-effects?

Before one may practice medicine, it is required that one study the subject first. The same requirement applies to doing cloudbusting responsibly. The first step is to study the literature on the subject. Them if at all possible, take lessons from someone with experience in the field, preferably in the region where you intend to work. Then, when you know what is happening in the atmosphere to cause the drought, if you know what the problem is, you will be able to devise a plan of action to reduce the cause of the problem.

Droughts do not "just happen". They are caused by something. In the case of the current drought in Texas, there are two factors involved. First, the irritation and subsequent stagnation of the atmosphere of the entire planet due to the nuclear release in Japan several months ago. Texas was already deep in a drought anyway, at that time, but the meltdown made it worse, just as it increased tendencies to either stagnation or violent reaction of the atmosphere all over the world.

The second factor involved in the current situation is, I admit, a bit speculative, but there is enough circumstantial evidence that it rises beyond the level of just a hunch. In the normal course of events, a drought is self-limiting. Nature sooner or later ends the drought by the annual hurricane season, which brings a huge influx of rapidly-moving energy into an area and sweeps away the stagnated field that is inhibiting rain formation. These fast-moving strong circulatory storm systems not only bring water in the form of rainfall associated directly with the storm, but more importantly, they also revitalize and regenerate the ability of the local atmosphere to produce it's own storms on a regular basis.

To do this, a storm must be more than just a source of rainfall. It must contain strong enough winds, fast-moving enough winds, to stir up and re-mobilize the stale, stagnant field of a region that is suffering from a drought. Rain, even in very large amounts, will not end a drought. To do that, to re-establish the natural ability of the atmosphere to produce rain on a regular basis, requires the powerful circulatory wind systems that we call hurricanes.

The atmosphere is a feedback system. Hurricanes are specifically attracted to areas of energetic stagnation, so if an area is undergoing a drought, the next hurricane that comes along will tend to veer inland toward it, while if there is no drought-stricken area on the continental land mass, the hurricanes will tends to stay out over the ocean, farther from shore.

This year has been marked by a failure of the tropical hurricane season to form the normal number of hurricanes. There have been tropical storms, and in some cases, plenty of rain, even far more rain that is normal, but the winds associated with these storms have failed to attain the velocity needed to clean away the stagnation of the continental energy field, so the storm system fails to be attracted farther inland to the area where the rain is needed, and the drought continues.

The atmosphere has reacted to the ongoing stagnation with an increase in the number of tornadoes, which have not only increased in frequency this year, but have also happened in places that do not normally get them. Tornadoes are a self-cleansing reaction of the stagnated atmospheric energy field and are another mechanism by which the atmosphere attempts to restore itself to normal mobility. ( 1 ) They normally occur in places too far inland for hurricanes to reach or where there has been a lack of hurricane activity for other reasons.

The discrepancy between the usual hurricane activity and that of this season leads to the suspicion that someone might have been tampering with the hurricanes this year. If some person or persons with cloudbusters were attempting more or less successfully to prevent hurricanes, or at least prevent the hurricanes that form from making landfall, or failing that to reduce the velocity of the winds to below that needed to re-mobilize the stagnated atmosphere ,then the natural mechanism by which the atmosphere places a limit on the duration of droughts might fail.

The end result of that would be and increased incidence of tornadoes in regions on the edges of the drought-stricken area, and longer-lasting, possibly, if the prevention of hurricanes were continued for several years, permanent desertification.

So the increase of tornadoes this year, especially in places that normally seldom see them, along with the unusual length of the drought, might both be due to the irresponsible misuse of cloudbusters by untrained people who do not understand how the atmosphere works and think they are doing a good thing by "protecting" the public from hurricanes.

And before advocating that more well-meaning people take up cloudbusting to "help" solve the drought problem, it may be worthwhile to consider that one possible reason the drought continues is that too many people already have taken it upon themselves to "help" the world with cloudbusters.

Another Letter To Jerry Decker

I have had some more correspondence with Jerry Decker, the technophiliac invention groupie who thinks it would be a good idea if a lot of people in Texas started using cloudbusters to end the drought there. I happen to disagree. I think it would almost certainly make things worse.

There is no doubt a properly-done cloudbusting project by someone who knew what they were doing could do a great deal of good in this dire situation. But to advocate that a large number of untrained individuals who have no idea of the theoretical underpinnings of the cloudbuster or of the normal atmospheric dynamics and what has gone wrong with those natural processes to cause the drought simply take up cloudbusting with no information on how to use a cloudbuster properly or who else might be using one just over the hill, out of sight, is reckless in the extreme.

Would Jerry also advocate that anyone should be allowed to practice medicine, without undergoing any training first? Does he think there is no need to require a person to show he knows how to drive before getting behind the wheel of a car on a public road? Would Jerry like to travel in an airplane if he saw the pilot reading a book on "How To Fly" before the flight?

I had another e-mail from Jerry again today, again protesting against my attempts to discourage him from advocating promiscuous cloudbusting by untrained people. I sent the following reply:

Dear Jerry,

I think there is not too much difference between my carrying on a campaign against the irresponsible proliferation of cloudbusters and any other type of environmental campaign by any other environmentalist. It just so happens that I am one of the very few who knows about cloudbusting, or at least takes it seriously. Most environmental activists have ether never heard of it or think it is nonsense, just as most of the population does, of course.

Since I do know that it does indeed affect the weather, and am aware of the dangers involved in such a device being used by people who either do not understand the basic principles of it, or have no idea of how the ecosystem would be damaged by their playing around with it, I feel a responsibility to make a few waves when I hear of someone misusing a cloudbuster.

Some people say the same things you say about me to the activists who are working on other issues. The Japanese whalers call the Sea Shepherds terrorists. The loggers think the people working on forest protection should go home and stop bothering honest decent workers who are only trying to earn a living by chopping down trees. The CEOs of companies like Monsanto think the people who raise doubts about GM foods are being silly and interfering with honest business. And the military think the peace movement people are out of touch with reality.

And none of the activists gives up and goes home and stops working on an issue just because the corporation or government department that they consider to be doing damage to the earth tells them to quit. It is a normal part of doing environmental work that the evil-doers who are damaging the planet will want you to stop. And the hostility the evil-doers show is good evidence that you are touching a nerve.

I am a great admirer of Captain Paul Watson, the founder of the Sea Shepherds. He has been actively campaigning against whaling for over 30 years, and he is not ever going to stop just because the Japanese whalers call him names and advise him to get laid instead. In the case of cloudbusting, most of the evil-doers are single, private individuals, not big corporations, but the principle is the same. It makes no difference if someone is clear-cutting forests with chainsaws, harpooning whales, shooting endangered species for body parts to sell to the Chinese medicine trade, or trying to break a drought and save lives. They are all doing environmental damage and it is a duty of those who see that to try to stop them.

Decker's clarion call to urge ignorant neophytes to use his instructions to build cloudbusters that could seriously alter the weather patterns in such a way as to create floods, droughts, or other "natural" disasters amounts to little more than sending quack doctors out into the world to perform medicine without a license. It's barbaric and incredibly stupid behavior from a man who ought to know better by now!

Some Mistakes By Jerry Decker

On his Keelynet website, Jerry Decker has the following posted in his "Twitter" section:

Now, it is perfectly reasonable for Jerry, or anyone else, for that matter, to hope this prediction is wrong. I have no issue with that. But what gives me pause is that just a few days ago, in an angry e-mail to me, Jerry insisted that he would continue to urge his friends in drought-stricken Texas to try to use cloudbusters to end the drought.

He absolutely refused to listen to my warnings that if he posts such advice on a public website, which he had done, an unknown number of readers might take him up on it, and if an unknown number of individuals with no knowledge of the energetic dynamics that underlie the functioning of the cloudbuster were to start pointing cloudbusters at the sky in randomly-chosen directions, none of them having any idea what direction to aim in or what results to look for, and none of them knowing about the others who are also trying to do the same thing, it would be a sure prescription for an even worse catastrophe.

Even if some of them were accidentally successful and did trigger rain, the chances of that rain amounting to a flood instead of a gentle rain, just enough to help the dried out vegetation, would be too great. A flood on top of a drought is not the same thing as solving the problem. It is just making two disasters instead of one.

The orgone theory explains more than just how to build a cloudbuster. It also explains the behavior of the normal atmosphere and what can go wrong with it that causes a drought. And that knowledge is essential to fixing the problem. Once you know that a drought is caused by a build-up of DOR, it becomes obvious that the solution is to do DOR-removal operations first, before trying to induce rain. This is something quite different from the rainmaking operations that can be used in a normal, non-drought atmosphere to bring rain.

Unless one knows and recognizes the underlying cause of the drought, attempts to bring rain will either fail, or if successful, will only worsen the problem. It is not in the interests of drought-stricken Texas to follow the drought with a flood.

Jerry also made a rather important technical mistake in his letter to me. He said that all he had done was to suggest to his readers a way they could intervene in their LOCAL weather situation. Now, I know Texas is a rather large place, and perhaps the word, "local" means something larger to a Texan than it does to most people. But the effects of a single cloudbuster, even by Texas standards, are far from "local". Some of my own operations in Amherst, Massachusetts, were clearly visible in Hancock, Maine, 300 miles away. And In Australia, I saw effects of my operations near Toowoomba, 80 miles inland from Brisbane, reported all the way up the coast from Melbourne to Cape York, a distance of some 1500 miles.

So if anyone reading the messages Jerry has so carelessly flung to the public via the internet should be so reckless as to follow his suggestion, there is no telling how far the effects may reach and how much damage may result. Jerry should at least study more about cloudbusting before urging people to try it. Perhaps if he knew how far the effect might extend, he would have second thoughts about the practicality of having a lot of people all trying to fix the drought with cloudbusters.

Dispelling Some Misconceptions

Dear Dr.......................,

Thank you for your long letter explaining your interest in cloudbusting. If you really want to learn more about cloudbusting, the first thing you have to do is unlearn most of what you have already found on the internet. The internet is a very unreliable source of information and most of what you have found out is wrong.

1. The term, "cloudbuster" is misleading; it reflects the history of the device, not it's function. Breaking up clouds was the first thing a cloudbuster was found able to do, so it was called a cloudbuster, and is still called that, even though it can also create clouds, change their direction of motion, and do many other things.

2. The term "cloudbuster" properly refers ONLY to the original device invented by Reich. The gadgets of Don Croft and his followers are not cloudbusters, no matter what the Croftians choose to call them.

3. There has not been any improvement in cloudbuster design since it was first invented. All the claims of "new, improved" models of equipment are bogus. The myth of new, improved models of cloudbusting equipment was started by a con-man named Trevor Constable for advertising purposes. There is no better way to do weather-work than with the original type of cloudbuster.

4. Cloudbusters are not radionics devices and radionics devices cannot do the things a cloudbuster can do.

5. "Tuning" is not a concept in cloudbusting. Anyone who talks about "tuning" a cloudbuster does not understand it.

6. "Resonance" is another red herring. The cloudbuster does not depend upon resonance.

7. The same goes for "geometry" The functioning of a cloudbuster has little or nothing to do with any specific ratio of length to diameter. The phenomenon is not geometric.

8. The effect of a single cloudbuster is not "local'; some of my own operations in Amherst, Massachusetts, were clearly seen in Hancock, Maine, some 300 miles away. In Australia, I saw results up to 1500 miles from my operations site. A contact in Chile has reported similar long-range effects.

9. No electrical current is used in cloudbusting. In fact, any electrical stimulus will interfere with the operation. No electrical device can do anything to the weather except screw things up. Any claims of a device other than the Reich cloudbuster being able to control the weather should be treated with extreme skepticism.

10. That specifically applies to the Wells-Newman device of David Wells and his "Weather Rangers" cult. The atmosphere does not function on the basis of electromagnetism and no electromagnetic device can control atmospheric behavior. What is possible with the use of electricity however, is to IRRITATE the atmospheric energy field and cause additional problems.

11. That also applies to the HAARP array of microwave antennas in Gakona, Alaska. HAARP is not a weather control system and the internet rumors of some secret government weather control program using HAARP are nothing but wild tales with no basis in fact. There is no way any microwave antenna array could possibly control the weather, though it could, like any strong electrical excitation source, add more irritation to an already over-charged system and trigger droughts or atmospheric upheavals.

12. There are probably several hundred people who have fooled around with cloudbusting at least once or twice in the past 60-odd years, and it is anybody's guess how many of them are active at any given time. Most of them either fail to get results due to their ignorance of how to use a cloudbuster properly, or fail to recognize results when they see them because they have no idea what to expect.

13. In countries like the United States, where there are many people who have found out about cloudbusting via the internet, it is likely that anything the weather does has been influenced by somebody with a cloudbuster. That means that any drought, flood, hurricane, or other unusual; weather event is probably caused at least in part by someone.

14. While cloudbusting is illegal, under numerous environmental protection laws, no effort has yet been made by the law enforcement authorities to prosecute anyone for the many cases of homicide and other side-effect caused by incompetent and irresponsible misuse of cloudbusters. The deaths from flooding in the recent hurricane are an example of such negligent homicide by the people who were trying to divert the storm away from the coast.

15. There is nothing new or unknown about cloudbusting; It has been known for over two generations now. If someone does not know about it, that is a defect in that person's education, not an indication of a defect in the technique.

16. There is also nothing secret about cloudbusting; All the information was published over 50 years ago. Anyone who claims to have some secret information on the subject is lying. That also applies to any claims of military involvement in cloudbusting. There is none. No military service has ever had any interest in cloudbusting.

I hope this counters some of the misconceptions abounding on the internet.

The Weather Rangers: Ineffective Technology But Dangerous Ideology

I have my doubts about the effectiveness of the Weather Rangers technology. I do not really expect them to be able to do anything about a hurricane. But they are dangerous anyway. By setting a bad precedent, they are setting things up for some group at some future time to try the same thing with the Reich cloudbuster. And THAT really does work as claimed.

Until now, wildcat cloudbusting has been done by single individuals, with the main exceptions being the ACO and the C.OR.E. Network, both of which, whatever I may think of their policies, are hard-core Reichians who at least are familiar with orgonomy. That limits, to some degree, at least, the mistakes they can make. But most of the Weather Rangers come from a different background: the so-called free-energy movement. These are invention-freaks who are into new technologies for the sake of new technologies, and usually the most mechanistically-thinking people on the planet. It would be hard to think of a worse sub-culture to have become interested in cloudbusting.

And at least one of them, Ash Palise, already has a cloudbuster, as pictured on his website and used by him to cause the extreme floods in Queensland, Australia last year. And another of them, Jamie Ogg, is very familiar with orgonomy, but has apparently developed a drinking problem and become an outspoken advocate of promiscuous cloudbusting. So what is dangerous about the Weather Rangers is not so much their technology, but their ideology. If we can put enough pressure on them to make them stop, or at least keep quiet about it, we can avoid worse problems down the line, when some of them inevitably lose confidence in the Wells device and turn to the real cloudbuster instead.

The theory expounded by David Wells makes no sense at all in terms of what we know about the orgone physics of the atmosphere, but I used to do a stage magic act, and I recognize a stage magician's line of "patter" when I see it. Anything the magician says while on stage is a distraction intended to divert attention away from what is really going on. So I pay little attention to what David Wells says about HOW his machine works. He may or may not sincerely believe his own theories, but that makes no difference.

The actual mechanism of any electrical device on the weather, if in fact there is really any such effect at all, is that any electrical device will create some degree of oranur, the more voltage, the stronger the oranur reaction of the atmosphere, as a very broad general rule. In most cases, noticeable effects are restricted to high-voltage AC devices, but in at least one case, the use of electric servo motors to manipulate a cloudbuster, the 12 volt DC from batteries was sufficient to excite the field of the cloudbuster enough to break up the clouds the operators were trying to create and ruin their attempt to make rain.

So I cannot rule out the possibility that the Wells device is exciting the surrounding atmosphere enough to break up clouds, and possibly enough to block weather systems from moving into an area, and such phenomena, well-known and understood in orgonomy, once having been observed and confirmed, he and his followers have extrapolated from that and convinced themselves the machine can do other things which they have not really seen.

Complicating the situation is the existence of a class of devices known as "radionics machines", which look impressive but actually do nothing. Radionics devices do not have any effect on the atmosphere in the sense that a cloudbuster does, but they do have an effect on the mental processes of the operator, convincing him it is the machine that is having the effect, not his own organism, and thereby circumventing the strong conditioning most people are subjected to in childhood which prevents direct bioenergetic contact with the atmosphere.

This bioenergetic contact renders an individual or strongly-identified group able to affect the weather on a local scale, usually up to a few miles. But to allow themselves to do it without the anxieties raised by the cultural conditioning which inhibits such direct contact with the energetic environment, the person ( s ) involved must believe the machine is what is causing the effects. This displacement of the responsibility onto a machine enables the bioenergetic manipulation of local weather to take place.

Of course neither the electrically-generated oranur field from his device, if indeed it actually does do anything, nor the unconscious bioenergetic effects of his own organism would have anything like the long-range effects Mr. Wells claims, but if such effects have been observed locally, it would be easy to convince oneself the same effects were possible at a longer distance, especially if rationalized by a :"theory" that made it seem reasonable.. So my hypothesis is that once he had seen small clouds break up overhead due to the excitation from his machine, Wells went on to unknowingly re-invent a form of radionics device and obtain other locally observable effects on the local atmosphere without understanding that it was his own body energy field, not the machine, that was causing them.

And going on from that, his theory predicts effects at much longer ranges, and he and his followers are so convinced of the theory by what they have seen happen, that they believe they are having long-range effects even though they are not. And their evident sincerity goes a long way towards convincing others.

A Bad Suggestion From Jerry Decker

Jerry Decker, the operator of the Keelynet website, a clearing house for alternative inventors and unusual inventions, especially concentrating on alleged free-energy devices, and list owner of the Yahoo Groups Keelynet list, which covers the same topics, sent a message on his Twitter account to his following suggesting that due to the drought in Texas, his home state, they should build a cloudbuster and "make rain." He included a link to his article on his own cloudbusting operation several years ago in Mexico, where he now lives.

The article includes a very good step-by-step design for building a simple, inexpensive cloudbuster. Anyone who happens across this article will have no trouble building a cloudbuster that would be perfectly serviceable. All it is lacking is any information on what to do with it once it is built.

Let us suppose several Texans independently of each other, follow Jerry's suggestion. We would then see several people in different parts of Texas pointing cloudbusters at the sky in directions chosen at random, with none of them aware that someone else was doing the same thing, possibly pointing in the exact opposite direction, just over the hill. The results are not likely to be what any of them wants.

Jerry Decker should know better than to urge an unknown number of untrained individuals with no knowledge of DOR or the atmospheric energy dynamics that contribute to a drought, to go around pointing cloudbusters at the sky in randomly-chosen directions with no idea what to do or what atmospheric reactions to expect, but unfortunately it looks as if he does not.
